Sorry, I think this was my fault đ

The slow news cycle in the Microsoft world in the last couple of weeks may have been due to MVP Summit, which ended this week. Many product groups (basically all of them) were preparing presentations to MVPs on all the upcoming features and initiatives. Now that MVP Summit is over, we get news and roadmap updates. SoâŚ.my bad đ
If itâs any consolation, I know what Microsoft is up to, and where products will be headed. While the information is under NDA (super-duper top secret) and I canât discuss it, I can say progress is definitely not slowing down. SharePoint has an amazing team behind it and theyâll be delivering the features we need. Iâm so excited and am already planning my content for this year as well as upcoming years.
Itâs very safe to say that AI agents will play a major part in how we work, with both Microsoft as well as organizations creating their own agents to modernize processes and tasks.
Iâm going to be covering more topics around agents, including using the first-party Microsoft-developed ones, but also how you can create these. Itâs WAY easier than you think. In fact, even what Microsoft calls âPro Code agentsâ is easy for non-developers. Iâll start introducing these concepts slowly, the way youâre used to from me, and letâs go from there. And none of them will use Power Platform development. At least not the agents Iâll be talking about. Copilot Studio has its place, for sure, but creating agents outside of that are equally as powerful and can also do things that the Copilot Studio ones canât. Itâs also easier to understand, in my opinion.
Let me know if youâve got burning questions on how this stuff works. The first burning question Iâll cover is the whole âCopilot versus agentsâ thing, since many people are confused by that. Even I was at first, but itâs crystal clear, as Iâll explain in the video.
Donât Worry. Iâm not giving up on my SharePoint content by any means and wonât even slow down with it. SharePoint and agents definitely exist in the same world and work together to create solutions that will blow your mind.
By the way, my colleague and I won one of the SharePoint Hackathon categories!! Youâll find the news post about it below. I saw many of you in the live stream and it was SO COOL to see!! Thanks for embracing this great competition. Iâm honored to have even come close to winning, much less actually win! Thank you for being there â¤ď¸

ROADMAP
SharePoint eSignature for Word
If you have eSignature (a pay-as-you-go feature) enabled in the M365 Admin Center, users will be able to initiate an eSignature request from within Microsoft Word. Pretty nice feature to keep users in the context of their work instead of having to navigate somewhere else. This is rolling out in May 2025. Link to roadmap
M365/SharePoint Agent Insights for SharePoint Administrators
This is a VERY good feature. A new feature is coming to SAM (SharePoint Advanced Mangement) that gives you reports on the Copilot agents deployed to M365. A must-have feature for governance. This begins rolling out in May 2025. Link to roadmap
Dashboard in Sites
This very generic sounding title is actually good. What this will do is give you a (Viva Connections) dashboard in every SharePoint site. I believe this will give you the ability to essentially deploy a custom Viva Connections dashboard without having to actually deploy Viva Connections. Iâm already thinking through scenarios of how this will be useful for customers. This will begin rolling out in April! Link to roadmap
