SharePoint Agents for Everyone!

Microsoft’s roadmap website is having some issues this week, and as a result, there’s no roadmap items to feature. I’ll keep an eye on it and catch up for next week’s edition of SharePoint Insights.

The big news this week was Copilot Chat, a new offering that adds free and pay-as-you-go Agents to customers that aren’t yet licensed for M365 Copilot. This means you can start creating agents. There are restrictions if you don’t enable the pay-as-you-go part, but in short this makes Agents MUCH more important to customers. Those niche scenarios where you really need an agent, autonomous or not, because more attainable because it won’t be locked behind expensive licensing.

Agents and Copilot aren’t going anywhere, and it’s becoming a more important skillset to have. If you have access to this, even for free, definitely start experimenting and getting comfortable with what these can do for an organization.
